Journalism - Truth or Biased?

I have never had very high expectations for our local newspaper because i have always thought that it seems to hush certain things or maybe just avoid certain stories. I can only assume this things happen because i am not in the journalism sector and not in the gist of things so i can only assume that things like that happen from how the papers are published every morning till......

Few weeks back, i was reading a book,Guardians of Power, The Myth of Liberal Media. This book talks about the 'famous' UK papers that supposedly does some hushing up or maybe show a more biased side to a certain view. So in the outside world of Singapore, other supposed much more reputable newspaper might be playing these tricks too.

Just recently, a journalist friend shared something. Now you know why i could only assume till that day. This person shared of how a certain story was edited heavily and also seem to side one of the views slightly more then the other because of connections involved within the network. And there and then, i got my confirmation. So now i need not assume, but i know.

The person left me with this quote, ' There is no more absolute truth.'

Some time ago, on the CNA news sites, there was a news on the crimination of someone who used to be on the ruling party. The headlines even mentioned the names of the party.

A few hours later, they took the name of the ruling party out of the article.
