A situation to ponder.

There are 2 situations here which I would like you to choose.

A)You are earning 50k a month and your peers are earning 25k a month.

B)You are earning 100k a month and your peers are earning 200k a month.

Which would you pick?

Choosing between earning $50k or $100k a month?

That's simple. $100k.

I don't mind if my friends are richer. That will give me more options in life should I need to borrow money. ^_^

The purpose of benchmarking against peer's pay should not be used to demotivate us. It should seek instead to make us find out what we can do to reach that kind of pay.

be positive. ^_^

This was a survey done for one of the 7 deadly sins which was envy.
75% of people would actually choose A because they would not want to envy someone and also they wanted to be more superior to people.
Just an interesting situation.

Haha, I see. 75%, that's high.

I am constantly amazed how emotions play people sometimes, to the point that it takes over common sense.

Greed and fear, fall prey to it, or capitalise on it.
